School District 69 Properties, Vancouver Island

With the ability to generate electricity with solar, the school district is able to protect themselves from escalating utility prices while ensuring the schools are utilizing clean emission solar electric power. The combined eight systems installed at the Qualicum District school properties consists of 1,072 solar panels, generating a combined system capacity of 424kW, with an estimated annual energy production of 459,603kWh.

    Hesquiaht First Nations Place of Learning, Hot Springs Cove

    The Hakai team was grateful for the opportunity and took on the challenge to design, install and commission an integrated hybrid energy system. The solar array consists of (323) 405W solar panels which have a system capacity of 130.81kW. The solar energy system is complimented by the Ahtaapq Creek Hydro Generation project, which reduces the overall community dependence on diesel-electric generators. The Hesquiaht First Nation now has access to reliable, renewable energy for decades to come.
