Who we are
We are a hardworking team of diverse professionals who love to learn and build to the best of our collective ability. Hakai Energy Solutions is an electrical contractor, specializing in solar energy systems and renewable energy integration. Since 2011, we have had the opportunity to work in diverse environments, spanning across coastal British Columbia, and the interior. Hakai designs and builds integrated remote, off-grid and grid-tied energy systems, both commercial and residential. We are passionate about renewable energy and the climate, which is why we do what we do, but we are also explorers; we want to experience everything this beautiful province has to offer and journey into the most remote corners of the BC coast.
Why work with us
Why work with Hakai? Because it’s endlessly full of challenge and discovery. That’s the simple answer but the perks extend far beyond, which is why our team tends to stick around. Here are a few of the many reasons to join the Hakai team:
Not only do we visit some of the most remote places in British Columbia, but we also gain the opportunity to share in the lives of those who work and live there full time. We’ve been working with some of our clients for well over a decade, forming strong connections that have taught us more lessons than we could have ever hoped for. This is the foundation of Hakai.
We’re a small part of the global renewable energy transition, and Hakai is a company that strongly supports local conservation efforts including land protection and sustainable management of forests for ecological, historical, economic and recreational values.
We work with the newest technology available, often before widespread public release. A job at Hakai Energy is a hands-on, immersive experience inside the rapidly changing renewable energy industry.
We have a fantastic team in the field and in the office that supports each other to get the job done. This means you can focus on the job that you’re best at, and gain valuable exposure to accomplished solar professionals.
It’s important to us that we are always learning and improving ourselves so that we can stay on top of changing techniques and technologies. We offer extensive in-house training for our employees, and financial support for courses and training taken elsewhere.
When we don’t have the right tool for the job or the tool we need is broken, we don’t mess around; our equipment and vehicles are kept in abundance and in good working order
We have made a long-term commitment to our team, their families, and our community by becoming a certified Living Wage Employer.
We know that everyone’s situation is different and life often throws us curve balls so we include a flexible health and welfare program to cover the usual and the unusual.
We are always looking for great people to join our team. Like most, we love to hire people with experience in the industry but we will train the right people so don’t let that stop you from applying. We accept resumes for the following positions on an ongoing basis:
