The Government of British Columbia has announced additional funding for the installation of EV chargers at homes and businesses. This rebate program can be applied to the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV Charger for single family homes, apartments, condos, townhouses, and workplaces.

Oct 31st, 2023 – “Funded by the Government of B.C.’s Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, and at times with financial support from the Government of Canada, BC Hydro administers the CleanBC Go Electric Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Rebate Program for Homes and Workplaces. The program provides rebates for the purchase and installation of EV chargers and infrastructure to get homes and workplaces across B.C. ready for EVs.

This program is part of the Province’s CleanBC plan to make clean transportation more affordable and accessible for British Columbians. Visit Go Electric to learn more about the plan and read the full strategy.”

*Program updates
“October 24, 2023 – The Province of B.C. has approved $6.59M in fiscal year 23/24 funding to fully re-open the CleanBC Go Electric EV Charger Rebate Program for Homes and Workplaces. Starting October 31, 2023, all program offers will begin accepting applications again. Funding is limited and will be allocated until it’s exhausted.

Federal funding from the Government of Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) that became available for condos and workplaces on June 15, 2023 is nearly fully allocated and will no longer be available as of October 31, 2023.

Funding is distributed on a first-come first-served basis. This means that some customers could apply by October 31 and still not receive the ZEVIP funding. In this situation, their application would automatically be considered for the new provincial program funding; they would not have to apply again.

As of October 31, 2023, the CleanBC Go Electric EV Charger Rebate Program for Homes and Workplaces will be fully funded by the Province of B.C. and all rebates will have returned to their normal funding levels.”
