Coniston Cresent, Cumberland
In the summer of 2021, the Hakai team designed and installed a residential solar system for a home in the village of Cumberland. The system allows the homeowners to limit their dependence on the utility grid while harnessing clean, renewable solar energy.
Like many homeowners on Vancouver Island, and across BC, the family on Coniston Crescent was keen to establish themselves as independent energy producers. With the help of the Hakai team, the homeowners were presented with a turn-key seamless solar electric energy system. The system consists of (20) 315W solar panels mounted to the home’s southern and eastern facing asphalt shingle roof. This system produces an average of 7,017kWh annually. The 6.3kW system allows homeowners to limit their dependence on the utility grid while harnessing clean, renewable solar energy. The Cumberland homeowners have not only made a financial investment in reliable energy production, but also a sustainable investment for their future.
